I went to Moses Coulee this weekend for an EVST 200 field trip. We stayed at the bottom of a canyon.

We did a transect on the creek that runs through the Nature Conservancy's property there. I was in pungent silt up to my knees downriver of a dead porcupine for part of the transect, and I was really into it. When did I start liking these things? I remember looking at an article about the dwindling bat populations of the Northeast, and all of the sudden I'm an environmental studies student, wading in mud with a big smile on my face.
